Chasing Butterflies

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven . . .
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance . . .
~ Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 4

I had just thrown my braided kitchen rugs out on the back patio for cleaning when I noticed from the back door that a butterfly had just landed.  Of course, I ran to get my camera. Shooing my dog away, I began snapping away.

My puppy patiently waited on the sidelines as I took my time capturing this simple little blessing.

This little guy (or gal) started to open up his wings to show his more colorful side, and I was hoping to get to an angle where I could capture it.

But before I could get repositioned, my puppy decided he had been a bystander for too long.  He was ready to dance!

He went for the butterfly.  Scared me (and the butterfly) to death.  I jerked the camera as I snapped the photo . . .

And that was the end of that!

Today I'm sharing with:

And too funny about your patient puppy -- mine would NOT be waiting so patiently! ha! Love how you included the last shot!

i got your comment on our blog...wow! you certainly have your plate full to say the least. some of my family members have the same conditions so i know how taxing they can be. i always remind myself that this life is but a vapor, it will be over before we know it. soon, we will be in heaven...oh, happy day! until then, i suppose we have to press on while encouraging others {and ourselves} along the way.
    {hugs} :)

  22. It's like candy to the eyes, with that first one. The colors are gorgeous and the butterfly so crisp. What fun...and I can just imagine how you must've jumped when the pup couldn't hold still any longer :)
